Study2Migrate's IELTS coaching is engineered for the 2026 Computer-Delivered format โ not a generic classroom carry-over. We cover One Skill Retakes, the new diverse-accent Listening section, and anti-template Writing strategies that examiners are now trained to penalise.
From June 2026, the paper-based IELTS format is being progressively retired across India. Computer-Delivered IELTS (CD-IELTS) is now the primary format โ with results in as little as 3โ5 days versus 13 days for paper. Study2Migrate's coaching lab in Kanuru, MG Road is fully equipped with the exact 2026 interface: the same timer UI, on-screen highlighting tool, cut-and-paste for Writing, and the audio system used in actual test centres. If you are preparing for IELTS in 2026, you must practise on a computer โ not paper. We made that transition two years ago.
This is no longer a matter of preference. Here is exactly how the two formats compare โ and why the computer format unlocks advantages that paper candidates miss entirely.
| Feature | ๐ป Computer-Delivered Recommended 2026 | ๐ Paper-Based Being Phased Out |

| Results speed | 3โ5 days โ critical for tight visa deadlines | 13 days |

The One Skill Retake is available exclusively to Computer-Delivered IELTS candidates. If you narrowly miss your required band in a single module โ say you needed 7.0 in Writing but scored 6.5 โ you can retake just that one section within 60 days of your original test. You do not resit all four modules. Your highest score for the retaken skill is combined with your original three scores to produce your updated Test Report Form.
This is a transformational policy for students applying to UK universities under the Student Route Visa, or Australian universities that require specific component scores. Most standalone coaching centres in Vijayawada do not teach OSR strategy โ they prepare you for the test but not for the tactical decision of whether, when, and which skill to retake.
At Study2Migrate, OSR strategy is built into every coaching programme from Week 3 onward. We analyse your mock test data to identify your weakest and most improvable module, then tailor the final two weeks of coaching specifically around that skill โ so if you do need to retake, you are already halfway prepared.
A student from KL University, Guntur targeting University of Birmingham (UK) needed an overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0. Her original scores were:
Instead of resitting all four modules, she enrolled in our 10-day Writing OSR Sprint. She retook Writing only โ and scored 6.5. Visa approved. Total cost: one retake fee + sprint coaching โ far less than deferring her intake by six months.
Ask About OSR Sprint โThe 2026 IELTS Listening section has expanded its accent profile significantly. British English now shares the audio bank with South Asian, East African, West African, and East Asian English โ reflecting real-world academic environments. Students trained only on British and Australian accents are measurably losing 0.5โ1.0 bands in 2026 Listening tests.
Every module has been updated for the 2026 Computer-Delivered format. Select a module to see the detailed coaching approach.
The 2026 IELTS Listening module is 30 minutes (40 questions) and now features the most diverse accent pool in the test's history. Students who trained exclusively on British or Australian audio are at measurable risk of losing marks in Sections 1 and 4, where new accent varieties now appear regularly.
Our coaching addresses three critical competencies the 2026 format demands: predictive listening (using question stems to anticipate answers before the audio reaches them), accent-agnostic phoneme mapping (recognising the same word across six pronunciation styles), and computer tool efficiency โ specifically using the on-screen review flag without losing pace on subsequent questions.
IELTS Academic Reading contains three long passages (2,000โ2,750 words total) and 40 questions in 60 minutes. On computer, the on-screen highlighter and annotation tools โ when used correctly โ meaningfully reduce time needed to locate evidence for True/False/Not Given and Matching Headings tasks.
Our 2026 Reading programme focuses on text-mapping (annotating passage structure in 90 seconds before touching questions), question-type routing (each of the nine IELTS Reading question types requires a different scanning strategy), and collocation recognition โ identifying paraphrased answers even when vocabulary is completely different from the passage.
True/False/Not Given remains the question type where Vijayawada students statistically lose the most marks. We dedicate an entire week to TFNG logic, including the critical distinction: "False" means the passage directly contradicts the statement. "Not Given" means the passage simply doesn't address it.
IELTS Writing is the module most directly affected by the 2026 examiner-recalibration update. Cambridge and IDP updated their examiner training in late 2024 to specifically target memorised essay structures, recycled topic sentences, and formulaic concluding paragraphs.
Examiners are now trained to flag scripts where the introduction follows a fixed formula regardless of the specific prompt, where body paragraphs apply a rigid Point-Example-Explain template, or where the conclusion mirrors the introduction word-for-word. These patterns are penalised under Lexical Resource and Coherence & Cohesion for "over-rehearsed" and "formulaic" language.
Our Writing coaching is entirely prompt-specific. We do not give students template paragraphs to memorise. We teach a flexible reasoning framework that produces a unique response to every prompt โ because the 2026 exam will show students a task they have never seen before.
IELTS Speaking is a face-to-face interview of 11โ14 minutes marked on four criteria: Fluency & Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range, and Pronunciation. The 2026 examiner guidance clarifies that Pronunciation is assessed on intelligibility and consistent phonological patterns โ not on whether the candidate sounds British.
Students from Vijayawada often lose marks not because their vocabulary is poor, but because they pause excessively mid-sentence, over-use filler phrases, or over-correct their natural accent to the point of inconsistency โ which lowers Pronunciation scores. Our Speaking coaching is about controlled fluency and natural reasoning, not accent eradication.
All students complete a minimum of 8 recorded mock Speaking interviews. Recordings are reviewed together with specific time-coded feedback on fluency, vocabulary precision, and grammatical range.
In late 2024, IELTS administrators released updated examiner guidance under the Lexical Resource and Coherence & Cohesion criteria. The guidance specifically references "over-rehearsed language," "formulaic discourse markers," and "memorised topic sentences" as factors that cap a candidate's band score โ regardless of grammatical accuracy.
The reason is straightforward: templated essays demonstrate that a student has recalled a pre-written structure rather than constructed an argument in response to the actual prompt. IELTS Writing assesses your ability to communicate ideas โ not to reproduce a memorised scaffold with different topic words inserted.
This is a significant problem for students who prepared using the "band 9 template" videos that have proliferated on social media. Many of these templates are now directly flagged by examiner training materials as penalised writing patterns.
At Study2Migrate, we identified this shift early. Since early 2025, every Writing session is built around prompt-specific reasoning. Students learn to read the task, identify the core argument or data story, and build a response structure unique to that prompt. This is harder โ but it is the only approach that produces reliable Band 7+ scores in 2026.

Students who walked into our MG Road, Kanuru office and walked out with the band scores โ and visas โ that changed their lives.
I had failed twice at another institute โ both times stuck at 6.5 in Writing. Study2Migrate completely changed how I structured arguments. No templates, just actual thinking about the prompt. I got 7.0 in Writing and 7.5 overall in one attempt.
I got 6.5 in Speaking on my first attempt. My counsellor immediately recommended the OSR. I did the 10-day Speaking sprint and scored 7.0 on retake. The whole process took 5 weeks โ my visa was still well within deadline.
The accent training here is genuinely different. In my actual test there was a Nigerian English speaker in Section 1 โ I was completely prepared because we had drilled exactly that. I scored 8.5 in Listening. That's what separates Study2Migrate.
Our office is on MG Road, Kanuru โ above the Jockey Showroom โ at the centre of Vijayawada's study-abroad corridor. Students reach us from Benz Circle, NTR Circle, Poranki, and Gannavaram in under 15 minutes.
